Ceremonial Reopening of the Reichenbach Synagogue in Munich

After more than a decade of restoration work, the synagogue in Reichenbachstraße was ceremoniously reopened on September 15, 2025. With this, the city of Munich regains a significant modern Jewish landmark.

Inaugurated in 1931, the synagogue designed by Gustav Meyerstein is one of the most outstanding examples of sacred architecture between Bauhaus and New Objectivity. For many decades, it served as a center of Jewish religious life in Munich and will once again be used for worship, cultural events, and educational programs.

The Blank Art Foundation supports the association Synagoge Reichenbachstraße e.V. in the restoration of the building, honoring this remarkable commitment to preserving German-Jewish cultural heritage in Munich.
