Remembered Present –
An Exhibition on the Theresienstadt Ghetto

In the travelling exhibition „Remembered Present“, artist Marlies Poss engages with the Theresienstadt Ghetto through original documents, personal stories, and artistic reflections. The exhibition focuses on the biographies of individuals who were deported there – including Berthie Philipp, the artist’s great-aunt from Hamburg, and the families of Ernst Grube and Dr Jan Mühlstein.
Marlies Poss combines historical remembrance with Art. Her installations combined with historical documents, offer an emotional insight into the Shoah, bringing to life the Jewish communities wiped out by National Socialism. In Ichenhausen, a town with a deeply rooted Jewish history, the exhibition exerts a powerful impact.
This exhibition makes the past tangible – warning and urging the present.
6 April to 27 July 2025, Ichenhausen Synagogue. Vordere Ostergasse 22, 89335 Ichenhausen
The exhibition is funded by the Ilse Blank-Mezger-Hesselberger Foundation.
